Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush is going to make public thousands of emails that he received during his eight years of service from 1999 to 2007.
All the emails, publishing in Personal Storage Table or .PST format, were received on his official gubernatorial account, [email protected]
Within the published documents are unredacted names, email addresses, mailing addresses, social security numbers and phone numbers.
Bush has reportedly spent nearly 30 hours a week in reading and replying to emails, hoping to provide more personal touch to Florida residents.
Bush’ Political action committee (PAC) American Bridge has collected the posted emails. Even though it’s a nobel effort, but he is witnessing some severe public relations concern after the data dump showed very little attention towards protecting people’s privacy.
Now, the elected leaders are struggling hard to explore the ways that can assist them in becoming more accessible to the voters, such as interactions with email, social network media and other personal forms of interactions.
But the interaction of any form should be professional as well as courteous. The leaders also need to ensure that no form of personal information is compromised during such interactions.
“In the spirit of transparency, I am posting the emails of my governorship here. Some are funny; some are serious; some I wrote in frustration”, Bush said in his recent post on the official website.
Even though Bush has not yet revealed his political ambitions, he is being seen as the frontrunner for GOP presidential bid.
