Search giant Google Inc is planning to roll out a range of its most popular products in the child-friendly versions in order to offer the kids with a funny and safe experience.
“We want to be thoughtful about what we do, giving parents the right tools to oversee their kids’ use of our products,” Pavni Diwanji, the company’s vice president of engineering, was quoted as saying by a daily.
According to the reports, the company is expected to develop specific versions of its search, Chrome products and YouTube for children of 12 years and below.
“We want to lay the foundation right, and then make sure every single part of Google is great for kids. They are the future, so why not give them the tools to let them create it,” she told the daily.
The company will be working to create child-centric products in a designated Kids’ Studio at its California headquarters. Reports said new creative ideas for the products will be considered from the offspring of company’s employees.
Google has, however, not provided any timeline for the roll out of the new range.
Meanwhile, a Google spokesperson declined to comment, saying the effort mentioned in the report was accurate.
