On Saturday a Florida woman was arrested for killing her daughter and father after she called the police telling them that her daughter and her father were missing. The woman was identified as Cheyanne Jessie (25). She hid the bodies in bags and stuffed them in a shed. According to the police the woman learned the technique from the TV series Criminal Minds.
Jessie was a cashier at a big-box store. Her daughter, Meredith, was 6 years old and her grandfather, identified as Mask Weekly, was 50 years old. The remains of the victims were found in plastic boxes, 200 yards away from Weekly’s home, on the property of a neighbor in Lakeland, Florida.
Grady Judd, Polk County Sheriff, said that they were able to identify the corpses because of the stench. Both bodies had gunshot and stab wounds. The girl and the man were last seen on July 18, but Jessie reported that they were missing only now.
It seems that the mother decided to kill her daughter because she considered that she would interfere with her new relationship. First Jessie told the police that she left her daughter at her grandfather’s house on July 18 and when she returned the following day she had an argument with Weekly regarding the child.
She claimed that she attacked her father in self-defense after he attempted to stab her. Afterwards as she took the knife from him she accidentally slashed her daughter. Jesse also claimed that she managed to fend off her father using martial arts techniques which she had learned from her boyfriend’s father. However the police discovered that the man had no knowledge of such techniques. Judd said that none of the thing she said were supported by evidence. He also remarked:
“Nothing’s more horrific than the murder of a child, except when it’s done by a parent, and that’s what we saw. This is the face and this is the eyes of a cold-blooded murderer,” he added while pointing at Jesse’s mug shot. “not only murdered them… but left them in the residence for many days until it became painfully evident she had to move them.”
It seems that later after the incident the woman asked her boyfriend whether bodies would fit in plastic tote and how long it takes for them to decompose.
