A Mississippi police officer was rescued from certain death by his brave canine partner. As three men ambushed him and were dragging him into the woods to kill him, the police dog amazingly managed to fight off the attackers and send them off running in fear.
On Monday night, deputy Todd Frazier from Long Beach observed a man passed out in the front seat of his car and decided to pull over and see if the man was in need of assistance.
When he approached the man’s car, two other men distracted him and soon after, the deputy found himself on the ground. The three men attacked him and used a box cutter to make a sizeable cut on his forehead.
Then they started dragging him into the woods and told him they were going to slit his throat and leave his body there. Luckily, from the midst of this unfair fight, deputy Frazier somehow managed to activate a key chain command that opened the door to his car.
Inside the car was his police dog, Lucas, who had been trying to get out all of this time. Once he was released, the dog sprung in great haste to Frazier’s aid.
Lucas followed the Frazier and the three men to the wooded area and once he reached them, he succeed to bite one of the men so badly, that all three of them were sent off running shortly after.
Then, deputy Frazier managed to get to a hospital so that he could get the medical assistance he was so direly in need of. He sustained multiple significant bodily injuries and a deep 2,5 inch cut to his forehead. Fortunately, he is expected to recover completely.
The three attackers however have not been apprehended and there is an ongoing search being conducted by the local police authorities to find them and take them to justice.
Lucas, the hero police dog did not suffer any injuries in his brave endeavor to save deputy Todd Frazier. He has bravely succeeded in saving his life almost single-handedly and he has proven that police dogs are tremendously important assets to the police community.
