Thanks to a new deal struck between the media giant, Twitter Inc. and Google company, since Tuesday people have been able to see various tweets in their search page.
The new understanding between the two companies means a great new deal of things.
One of them means that, whenever you feel like checking up on what your favorite celebrity has been up to, after typing their name in the Google search page, you won`t just get news about where they went, what they wore etc., you`ll also receive their five latest tweets.
However, this can vary depending on a lot of factors. For instance, if what other, more influential people, tweet more interesting things about that celebrity, then you`ll get their tweets in the search engine.
For the time being, what tweets should be shown and what should be hidden is still a matter of debate at Google and only after a testing period, will they be able to figure out what is the best formula to attract users.
All will be design according to an algorithm meant to bring you what is relevant regarding what has the famous person done and how other people are reacting to their action.
It also means that if a tweet seems captivating and you are interested in reading more tweets written by that famous person, then by clicking the tweet, you`ll be redirected to Twitter`s website and if you want to read what interests you, then you`ll have to sign up.
Thanks to this deal, Twitter Inc. hopes that their platform will see more exposure and that they`ll round up more users than the 303 millions it already has.
Google, in return, gets their hands on all the information posted on twitter so that their crawler can go through tweets a lot faster than it already does.
This is not the first time Twitter and Google have partnered up in a deal like this. The first one was made in 2009 and lasted for only two years. The company that broke off the deal of was Twitter, because according to them, they weren`t having too much success in gathering up new users.
Still, what made them change their minds 4 years later is unknown, as the details of the contract were not released to the public.
For the time being, only the mobile phone Google app can show tweets in their search pages, but the change is expected to be implemented on other platforms and in other languages as well.
