GoPro is an American technology company that focuses on bringing latest technological gadgets for people who love practicing sports. Their products can withstand the side effects of adrenaline pumping activities like skydiving, snowboard or extreme races. Thus, the owners can rely on an HD memory of their own personal adventures. However, one of the latest products of the company, the Karma drone, had to go through a recall due to a battery malfunction. After three months of absence, the product returns to the shelves with improved specs.
GoPro Inc. needed Karma drone to perform impeccably during last winter holidays. The company relied on their latest concept to restore financial stability in the chaotic market of action cameras. The year of 2016 represented a challenge for GoPro which became more difficult once customers started to test their new gadgets. Shortly after, the online world was invaded with videos that clearly captured how weak the Karma drone batteries were which was against what the company advertised.
Soon after the clients became concerned with their new acquisition, GoPro Inc. ordered a recall of the product. After three months of absence, Karma drone is back in business while producers promise that they took care of the identified issue.
According to recent reports, the problem with the gadget was triggered by the position of the gimbal and camera. It seemed that this oversight caused the gadget to crash while in mid-flight. Because of the lack of balance as the gear was placed in front and not in the middle, the drones had problems with remaining in a stable position. Moreover, some of the products were so out of balance, that they started vibrating as soon as they were switched on. The trepidations led to the batteries to disconnect while in mid-flight.
The fix the new version comes with is as simple as possible. The design hasn’t much changed except for the battery latch. This accessory was the only one that went through a redesign. With this simple tweak, the Karma drone is now able to remain in the air while its batteries are working perfectly. While some GoPro fans were expecting a little more from this recall after three months passed, the gadget doesn’t come with other upgrades or improvements. The price remained the same as before of $799 for the version with no camera while the other with a Hero 5 Black can be purchased for $1,099.
