As the Consumer Electronics Show is all set to begin this week, LaCie has launched two new products — LaCie Mirror hard drive (encased entirely in Gorilla Glass) and LaCie Rugged RAID Thunderbolt hard drive (the newest member in the Rugged collection).
The LaCie Mirror, a 1TB hard drive, is designed in such a way that it would offer user a fashionable as well as functional device. It features a mirrored design accompanied by an ebony stand.
“You have to look twice to discover the LaCie Mirror’s true ambition. Covered by mirrored glass, it’s first an elegant and functional object, and only on second glance is it revealed to be a slim high-performance hard drive,” said product designer Pauline Deltour, who created the LaCie Mirror hard drive.
The 1TB LaCie Mirror hard drive, encased completely in Gorilla Glass 3, will be available for USD 279.99 in late January at the official LaCie website. Gorilla Glass makes the LaCie Mirror resistant to scratches and chips and ultra durable.
The second product is the 4TB Rugged RAID Thunderbolt hard drive. With upload speeds of up to 240MB/s, it is the fastest HD available in the market. The latest bus-powered Thunderbolt hard drive possesses an aluminium shell encased in orange rubber that provides maximum protection and portability when used in the field.
LaCie’s parent firm Seagate has also unveiled many new products such as the Seagate Personal Cloud, the Seagate Seven and the Seagate Wireless hard drive for iOS devices.
