Post-Presidency Life For the Obamas

Post-Presidency Life For the Obamas

With a little bit over one and a half years left at the White House, President Barak Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are barely thinking about their post-presidency future. With an abundance of plans yet to be accomplished, neither Obama has time to think about things too far into the future.

They have plans to build an extensive presidential library in Chicago, but they say that it will most likely come up towards the end of their term. Where the library should be located exactly and how it will be designed are problems that the Obamas plan to tackle in the future.

Michele Obama has extensive plans to continue her work long after 2016. The main projects that she will be governing are the persuasion of high-schoolers to attend college or technical schools, battling child obesity, constructing a support system for war veterans and extending education to girls and woman all around the word.

Naturally, this sounds like quite of a handful, even for the First Lady. Charming as usual, Michelle Obama said “I do not have a one- or two-year horizon for this work, (…)I have a rest-of-my-life horizon.”, thus winning the hearts of Americans everywhere.

One thing that they have thought about is where their future home will be located. The decision however will not be in whose hands you might think. It will come to young Sasha, one of their daughter to chose the city she will want to go to high-school in. Apparently there are serious perks to being the President’s daughter.

As their other daughter, Malia, will be attending college at that time, she does not have much of a say on the matter in front of her little sister.

President Barak Obama has mentioned that there is a possibility he might go back to teaching. In case you were not aware, he held the Constitutional Law courses at the University of Chicago. But something that he is extremely sure that he will be doing in the future is that he will be continuing his projects meant to help young black men.

It looks like both Obamas are in it for the long haul when it comes to abolishing racism and helping minorities overcome their hardships. And that will keep them in Americans’ harts for many years to come.

Like many other presidential families before them, it can be expected that they will be offered book deals, because Americans still want to learn the personal details of being inside the Oval Office. Usually, this is actually a great means of earning quite an impressive income. The Clintons received over $8 million each for their books at the time.

Ultimately, it is extremely certain that the Obamas will be staying in the public eye for years to come. But after the long years spent at the White House, a vacation will most likely be indicated for the entire family. Living as a normal person again is definitely going to be a tempting oportunity.
