It may seem that Overwatch players are flooded with gifts. However, this has actually become a sensitive issue for many. Most loot collections in this game are full of duplicates. This problematic situation becomes more irritating especially during time-limited events. Usually, producers celebrate events by offering special items. However, players have to go through many loot duplicates to receive something brand new. Blizzard became aware of this problem and decided to make it right.
Blizzard Will Include New Changes Regarding Loot Duplicates in Next PTR
From the beginning, Overwatch fans had to face a little daunting loot system. They had a low payout which made them a weaker alternative to purchasing the coveted items with credits. If there were not duplicates, players would receive trivial fillers such as voice lines, emotes, and sprays.
Blizzard understood this issue and announced that they are going to fix it. The company announced that the upcoming patch PTR notes would address this annoyance in a couple of days. The company thought of one solution to fix two unsatisfactory experiences players have with its production.
Players Will Receive a Better Price for Their Duplicates
First of all, the algorithm behind loot boxes will make sure users receive fewer duplicates from now on. Secondly, players will receive a fatter price for all their duplicate items. There are no details as to how this bonus system would work, yet any contribution might prove to be enough to compensate for the missed opportunity of yet another item that players already own.
While this issue has nothing to do with the quality of the game itself, fans complained about it numerous times. Some of them are investing lots of hours in Overwatch, and the gamification system is failing them. However, there is always the solution to get the wanted items with real money. Nonetheless, players don’t seem to demand free products. However, with each duplicate, it feels like there was no reward at all which defies the purpose of a loot box.
