New York’s Manhattan Center is hosting the latest edition of the TechCrunch Disrupt Battlefield. Between May 4 and May 6 startups are competing for owning the future, winning the 50,000 dollars prize and the Disrupt Cup.
The excitement is growing as the competition is drawing to a close. Of the 24 candidates in the race, seven have been chosen to enter the finals of the Battlefield. After a difficult deliberation as the jury has described it, the seven finalists will be competing today for the grand prize and the cup.
With these young startups displaying brilliant ideas, it is expected that the final pick of the vetted jury will be so much more difficult. Even so, any of BioBots, BitFusion.io, Cloudwear, Digital Genius, Liquidity, Nucleus Scientific, PageCloud will most probably have a heavy say in the future of tech.
BioBots focus on 3D bio printing and bio inks that may enable scientist to print living tissue in aid of scientific research. Liquidity envisions a world with clean drinking water for everyone. Nucleus Scientific aims to create a cleaner, better way for energy usage in the transport sector and related industries.
PageCloud is the forefront of desktop publishing brought to the web. Cloudwear boasts new, more secure authentication for any webpage and application. Digital Genius wants to rid us of the pesky task of talking to customer service robots. With so many accurate, focused and dazzling ideas, which will hold the brightest light on the stage of Manhattan Center?
Two amazing days have already passed at the TechCrunch. An overview so far boasts interview guests such as New York City Mayor, Mr. de Blasio, Carly Fiorina, the newest addition to the hopeful presidential candidates or CEOs like Joanne Bradford, Leandra Medine or Dennis Crowley.
The jury lags nowhere behind. John Borthwick of Betawork, Dennis Crowley of Foursquare, Alfred Lin of Sequoia Capital, Alexia Tsotsis of TechCrunch editors or Rich Miner of Google ventures are just some of the resounding names in the jury list.
Now, it is just a matter of hours until at least one of the seven finalists will be on stage competing for media attention, the investors’ goodwill and the grand prize of the TechCrunch Disrupt Battlefield.
