A lot of hospitals and health providers from Colorado are now using 3D Mammography to detect breast cancer. Even though patients do not feel the difference, this technology is able to detect the disease at an early stage.  The FDA approved the technology and 2015 and since then, it proved to be more efficient than other options.

The 3D mammography is taking 5-8 seconds, which is longer than the 2D mammogram, which takes 3-5 seconds.  It is longer, but it is more efficient. The device moves and captures the layers of the breast tissue. Most women who used this technology said they did not feel any difference and the procedure was more comfortable than they would have thought.

The biggest issue with the 2D mammography is that it not always shows the breast cancer at an early stage. There were patients who did first the 2D type and there was nothing wrong. However, after they did the 3D mammography, they discovered the diseases. Moreover, patients do not need to take more mammograms.

There were also cases where the breast tissue looked unusual, but after more tests, it was discovered that nothing was wrong. This happens because sometimes the breast tissue can change its shape and it looks like something women should worry about, according to the doctors. The 3D mammography is able to make the difference between the disease and the tissue.

Breast cancer is one of the most common diseases among women. Studies showed that one in eight women will suffer from this disease. The good news is that a lot of women managed to survive due to mammograms. This technology helps doctors to detect the disease earlier and treat it before it spreads. Most of the woman who died due to breast cancer came too late to get a mammogram.

Women should go to the doctor every year to see if there is any problem. You could think that nothing wrong could happen to you, but breast cancer is a big issue for women, no matter where they come from or how old they are.

We are expecting more health providers to use 3D mammography in the future. This technology proved to be more efficient and women have more chances to live due to it.
