Android Nougat Is Also Getting A Statue! But In France

Many users hoped Android Nougat would be Android Nutella instead.

Montélimar, France is considered by many in the know to be the nougat capital of the world. In a nod of approval, support, and respect to the good people of Montélimar and to their trade, Google has decided that the city should host its Android Nougat statue.

Ever since the third version of Android, it has been tradition for the name of each OS version to be a delicious dessert. While Android 1 and 2 were named Alpha, and respectively Beta, the third child was lovingly named Cupcake and the world has not gone back to number since.

Having Android versions named after desserts is now the way things are and my users would not want it any other way. Of course, there are those who feel that this entire dessert naming shenanigans is silly. However, the people of Montélimar are definitely not part of this second grumpy circle.

The statue has not arrived yet to the French city and nobody there knows what it will actually look like. However, neither fact stops them from being excited about the whole affair. After all, they do love their nougat. In addition, this will be the first time one of the Google Android statues will not be set in Mountain View, where the company has its main headquarters.

The Celebration of the Android Nougat Statue

Apart from planning the unveiling of the statue, Google officials have in talks with the authorities of Montélimar to organize quite a quaint festival with the occasion. As soon as the news got out, several people have already planned trips to the little town for the occasion.

Although it takes a hardcore Android fan to take the days off and go to France just to see the unveiling of the newest statue and have some delicious nougat in honor of it, Montélimar is preparing its streets, parks, squares to receive any number of people who can fit.

Apart from the endless mountain of nougat, Google has already made plans for bugdroid-green cocktails, and a lot of fun activities.

As far as potential traditions go, this could prove to be one of the best. There are still many letters in the Alphabet left and a lot of places Google could bring Android statues to.

The unveiling of the Android Nougat statue in Montélimar is scheduled for September 21st.
