Researchers have put together data from various studies and have come up with the most comprehensive research that answers the question many men have asked: what is the average penis size?
According to the data, the average size of an erect penis is approximately 13.12 cm in length and approximately 11.66 cm in girth.
The study involved the measurements of more than 15,000 men of various ages and race.
The results revealed that the average penis size when flaccid is about 9.16 cm in length and 9.31 cm in circumference.
The British researchers who conducted the study said that the numbers should reassure the majority of men who are insecure about the size of their manhood.
The scientists collected data from various studies where men had their member measured by professionals.
The collated numbers were gathered in a graph for doctors to use when counseling men who suffer from “small penis anxiety.”
Many men suffer from a psychological disorder known as Body Dysmorphic Disorder, which is a condition that can lead to obsessive behavior, anti-social tendencies, depression and suicidal thoughts.
But according to the study, only 2.28% of the male population have a small penis. Also, the study reveals that the same percentage applies for men with an unusual large penis.
The study involved men between the ages of 17 and 91 who had their members measure in previous studies conducted in the United States, Europe, Asia and Africa.
Researchers claim that there is no scientific evidence that penis size is different based on race, although most of the participants were from Europe and Middle Eastern, so a full comparison was not possible.
The scientists said there is no relevant correlation between the size of the man’s foot and the length of his penis.
However, the researchers are aware of the fact that the results could be compromised by the possibility that those who volunteered to have their organ examined could be men who are more confident about their bodies.
The study combined all the existing data on penis size and was put into a definitive graph.
The findings were published in the BJU International Journal of Urology.
