Boston Children’s Hospital Expansion Was Approved

Boston Children’s Hospital will expand.

The Public Health Council approved the expansion of Boston Children’s Hospital.  The decision was made even though a lot of people were against it because the expansion would mean destroying the garden of the hospital. According to the authorities, the project will cost 1 billion dollars.

The Boston Children’s Hospital expansion will include renovation of the Longwood medical campus and also the development of a Brookline property. This means that the hospital will have 71 more beds and four operating rooms. These improvements should save the lives of thousands of children who come to the hospital every year.

Protesters wanted a two-month delay to think of other options regarding the hospital’s garden. It seems that that place really meant a lot for parents and children. For some of them, it is the last place where they walked together or made memories. They see the garden as the right place to forget about any disease. Moreover, some of them think that the project is expensive and the health care costs will increase.

The hospital officials said that patients do not have to worry because this will not happen. It seems that they agreed to pay 2.5 percent of the project cost if they will not meet the needs of their patients. They also explained that they took into consideration more options, but this was the best. According to them, the hospital needs to have the new tower close to the others facilities.

The good news is that the hospital wants to create 25 percent more green space. We do not know more details regarding this issue or when the project will begin. We are expecting a reaction from the protesters. They promised to do their best and to save the garden. However, the hospital seems to have other plans.

Boston’s Children Hospital is best hospital for children in the United States, according to many reports. They are also one of the biggest pediatric medical centers. Their services can be used for children and people who are under 21 years old. However, there were cases where the hospital also treated pregnant women or adults. With more than 25 000 patients every year and 500 000 visits, this hospital is one of the best for children with major health issues.
