Hundreds and thousands of technocrats who have been impatiently waiting for the arrival of their favourite instant messaging app WhatsApp on the personal computers have got a reason for smile. The developers of the ridiculously popular messenger have finally announced the launch of a new service called WhatsApp Web.
The WhatsApp messenger, which enjoys more than 700 million daily active users, was never liked for the fact that it can be accessed only on the smartphones. The users, especially those who spent their most of the time while scrolling through their desktops, always wanted a desktop version of the popular messaging app.
And now the makers have finally fulfilled the unsaid demand by bringing WhatsApp on a PC.
In an official blog post, the messaging app said, “Today, for the first time, millions of you will have the ability to use WhatsApp on your Web browser. Our Web client is simply an extension of your phone: the Web browser mirrors conversations and messages from your mobile device – this means all of your messages still live on your phone.”
Here are some of the easy steps that can get you your favourite messaging application installed on your desktop web browser.
- All you need to do is simply head over to https://web.whatsapp.com/.
- If you are using Google Chrome, you will get a chance to scan a QR code on your desktop screen through the WhatsApp app on your smartphone.
Note: WatsApp is only available in Google Chrome and those wishing to use it on iPhone or any other browser on desktop, have to wait more.
