Google is not giving up its dream to activate in the social network industry. The company wants to hit the refresh button with its Google+ content curation project. This is why people can expect in the following weeks to see new features that will reinstate Google+ in their attention again. The comeback will work on three new features that were chosen based on the feedback the company received from its users.
On Tuesday, Danielle Buckley, the product manager at Google+, posted an official statement on Google blog according to which the company is preparing upcoming new features that were highly requested by users. Buckley did not hesitate to admit the fact that without the feedback of supporters, the iOS, Android, and web versions of the curation platform would have looked completely different.
The first major change will be at the level of the comments. The company understands the fact that as much as some people initiate quality conversations across social media, there are many other comments that can damage the value of the platform. As a consequence, Google+ will start filtering such comments. Those that are of poor quality will have a low priority in comparison with the good ones. The platform will be able to identify their nature. Afterward, it will proceed to either avoid showing them on feeds or bury them behind quality posts.
The second update comes rather late, but users will nonetheless find it extremely useful. It is about a zooming option that will enable users to get a closer view of the shared content, especially photos. However, this feature will be available for the web version only. Danielle Buckley explained this upcoming improvement as a supportive feature for the large community of photographs on Google+. There are many people who post large photos on this platform. As a consequence, a zooming option will be just perfect for observing all the details of the content.
The last update is bringing back the Events feature. Users will be able to create events again on Google+ and also share them with their friends and family. Moreover, they can also join other people’s events. These three new features are announced for January 24. On the same day, the company is going to close the old version of its social platform.
