At the Paris Games Week event Tekken 7 was announced for PS4. The company also hinted at the possibility of the game being compatible with PS VR technology as well. The news came from the CEO for Sony in Europe and was announced at the Sony press conference that took place at the Paris Games Week event.
Given the fact that Sony are preparing their own VR technology through the Morpheus project, they also announced that almost 200 developers are hard at work on Playstation VR games that will be available upon the launch of the system.
Among these new titles they have announced a remake for the arcade game “Battlezone” which will be functional with Sony VR. Another project is the online shooter “Battleborn” coming out for PS4. They’ve also announced “Gravity Rush 2” which will be available on the PS Vita. Trailers for all of these new games is available on their Youtube channel dedicated to the Playstation.
The creators of the Tekken series Bandai Namco have stated that the game “Tekken 7” would come to the Playstation 4 with exclusive content only available on the Sony system. The current iteration of the game is available in certain arcades located in Japan as well as select locations all across North America.
The executive producer for this game, Katsuhiro Harada, did not offer a release date for the game. He did add that the console version of the game will have content which you couldn’t find in the arcade version of the game.
“Tekken 7” is going to be powered with Unreal Engine 4 which just came out earlier this year. It will be among the first games that use this new technology and it will definitely be a stunning game as far as graphics go. The game will return the franchise to the classic “1v1” fights and will also offer an interesting single player campaign which will be story driven.
They have also announced new fighters which are called Lucky Chloe, Shaheen, Gigas, Josie and Claudio. These characters will be a new addition to the series and they will all have unique abilities which will be announced over time. This is good reason for fighting game enthusiasts from all over the world to rejoice and prepare for this new game.
