Search giant Google has unveiled a new music feature that will allow the song lovers with the complete lyrics of their favourite numbers.
The new feature will appear above the search results. Currently, the song lyrics feature is introduced in North America. The lyrics would be recorded in the Google Play Store, the sources said.
According to the reports, the users will require to tag on lyrics onto their favorite song name and the search engine Google will bring a chunk of the words to their selection and will direct the user to see the complete lyrics on the Google Play store page of the tune.
Releasing a playful statement, a Google spokesperson confirmed the new launch.
“There’s a good feeling you get when you turn to a song and you know that the words have two meanings. Well it’s whispered that now if you go search the tune, maybe Google will lead you to reason. Ooh, it makes you wonder…” the company said in a statement.
But the lyrics service is currently available only for those who use Google in US English.
Microsoft’s Bing had introduced a similar feature earlier this year.
Meanwhile, the prospective competitors of Google are well trying to remain calm over the development.
“We’re happy to see Google take an interest in improving lyrics online. “We’d love to collaborate with them to create the best lyric experience the internet has ever seen,” Genius co-founder Tom Lehman said.
The Google has, however, not revealed its plan for expansion of the song lyrics feature in other parts of the world.
